According to Peter Kohler, the Clubman began as the Lenton Clubman, No. 25, in Raleigh's 1948 range and was renamed the Raleigh Clubman for the 1949 model year; the Super Lenton, announced in December 1951, replaced it. Raleigh used the name again for the Clubman 12 in the 1984 UK catalogue, a lightweight tourer with Reynolds 531 double-butted main tubes and SunTour ARX gears, in Claret. The two are different bicycles.
