Using the guide

Everything here is for general information. We check every fact against the sources named on each page, but sources contain mistakes and so can we. Check details against your own bike and the original source before relying on them, and please tell us if something's wrong.

Working on your bike

Any work you do on a bike is at your own risk. Brakes, steering, wheels and tyres are safety-critical: if you're not sure, have a qualified mechanic do the job or check it.

Our responsibility

We're not responsible for losses caused by relying on information on this site, or by parts or tools bought through links from it. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Adverts and affiliate links

Links marked (Ad) are adverts. They go to Amazon, and we may earn a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. eBay links are plain searches and earn us nothing unless marked (Ad). We don't sell anything ourselves: any purchase is between you and the retailer, on their terms, at the price they show. Commissions never decide what goes in the guide.

Copyright and trade marks

The text, the compiled guide data, the design, our own photos and the Vintage Bicycles UK badge on this site belong to us. You're welcome to quote short extracts with a link back; please don't copy whole pages or the data wholesale.

Brand and product names belong to their owners and are used only to identify their bikes and parts. We aren't connected to, or endorsed by, any maker or retailer named here. Facts come from the sources credited on each page; we link to them rather than reproduce them.

If you think we've used your material

If you own something you believe we've used without the right to, email [email protected] with the page and what you own. We'll look at it promptly and correct or remove anything we shouldn't have used.

If you send us information or photos

  • You confirm you're entitled to send it: the photos are yours, or you have the owner's permission.
  • You keep the copyright in your photos.
  • You allow us to use the facts in what you send to improve the guide.
  • We never publish photos of catalogue pages.
  • We'll only publish a photo of your bike if you tell us we may. We'll credit you as you ask, and take it down if you later ask us to.

See the privacy notice for how we handle your details.

Other sites

We link to other websites, including the sources behind our facts. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
