Help fill the gaps
Old catalogues are the best source there is. Here's what we're missing.
What we need most
- Raleigh UK catalogues, 1959 to 1983. The biggest gap: kids' bikes, roadsters and utility models are thin.
- Raleigh UK catalogues, 1939 to 1957, and anything before 1938.
- Raleigh catalogues from 1985 to 1999, especially mountain bikes, hybrids and kids' bikes.
- Brands with only one or two model pages: Triumph, Phillips, Hercules, Viking, Falcon, Ridgeback, Saracen, Orange, British Eagle, GT, Kona, Diamondback, Cannondale, Klein, Scott, Giant, Univega.
- Mountain bike catalogues from the 1980s and 1990s: GT, Kona, Diamondback, Specialized, Trek, Cannondale, Marin, Klein, Yeti, Rocky Mountain, Ritchey, Scott, Giant, Mongoose, Univega, Santa Cruz and Gary Fisher, plus the British makers: Muddy Fox, Saracen, Ridgeback, Orange and British Eagle.
Photos of your bike
Every model page has space for owners' photos. Send a photo of the whole bike side-on in daylight, plus close-ups of the head badge and any transfers. Tell us the model and year if you know them, say "yes, use it", and tell us how you'd like to be credited. We'll add it to that model's page and take it down if you ever ask.
How to help
Photograph the pages that list the models: names, model numbers, frame sizes, gears and colours. A phone photo in good light is fine. Email them to [email protected] with the catalogue's year.
