The Avanti is in Holdsworth's 1982 catalogue with a Reynolds 531 frame, SunTour VX 12-speed gears and Weinmann 500 brakes. The late 1983 catalogue lists the Avanti 501, also with SunTour VX 12-speed gears, and calls it the first Holdsworth frame in Reynolds' new chrome-molybdenum tubing.
